University Health Sports Medicine Remodel
University of North Dakota
Serving both student athletes at the University of North Dakota and members of the community, the remodeled University Health Sports Medicine clinic supports physical therapy, nutrition, and mental health services. The fit-up of an existing, vacant suite within the School of Medicine & Health Sciences facility creates a new public face for the school, moving services that were formerly located in basement spaces to street level and intentionally co-locating facilities previously scattered throughout campus. This not only enhances visibility and efficiency but also brings daylight into the clinic, enhancing wellbeing and comfort.
Designed in partnership with architect of record Zerr Berg Architects, BWBR served as the academic and sports medicine planner for the space. Along with providing support space for clinic staff, the facility meets physical therapy treatment needs with zones for exams and diagnosis, sprints and calisthenics, and weightlifting and cardio, aiding both athlete recovery and training for future medical professionals. The new, integrated home for sports medicine brings state-of-the-art healthcare with improved functionality for teaching and learning.
