We’re so proud of BWBR Medical Planner Sophia Skemp, AIA, EDAC, for being named one of HCD’s Rising Stars for 2022! This prestigious list recognizes future leaders of the industry who have already made outstanding achievements in healthcare design. It’s such a well-deserved honor, and we are so excited to see her work being recognized.
Sophia’s portfolio includes planning health systems such as Mayo Clinic, Hennepin Healthcare, HealthPartners, and Marshfield Clinic, and she is a co-author of “Does Space Matter? An Exploratory Study for a Child-Adolescent Mental Health Inpatient Unit,” published in Health Environments Research and Design Journal. Sophia is also a co-creator of BWBR’s Scenario Planning concept and co-authored the BWBR white paper, “Scenario Planning: How to be Resilient in Design and Operations.”
