Replacement Critical Access Hospital
Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center
BWBR worked with owner’s representative Walker Advisory to design a replacement Critical Access Hospital campus on 10 acres for the growing Liberty County community. The new site of the replacement campus will be more conveniently located for all patients and visitors, as well as offer more options for future expansion.
The project’s guiding principles include designing an efficient and state-of-the-art facility where the community can get high quality care close to home. By fostering a simple, respectful approach to healthcare, BWBR created a layout that is easy to navigate, intuitive, and technologically modern.
Local Texas stone and building materials are incorporated into the design to help the new hospital fit comfortably within the southern landscape. Regional climate also played a large role in the design. The area experiences seasonal hurricanes, flooding, and hot humid summers. Water retention on the site will help to reduce the threat of flooding, while shaded public and staff outdoor courtyards will invite everyone to connect with nature in an enjoyable environment.
