Quality Control Lab
Lifecore Biomedical
Lifecore Biomedical’s existing quality control lab was running out of capacity to meet increased production targets due to lack of space in its existing footprint and inconvenient workflows. BWBR worked with Lifecore’s lab team to develop a new space designed to improve workflow and accommodate future growth.
The design of the lab spaces creates an efficient workflow by organizing the path of a sample through the space with minimal back-and-forth sample movement. Key infrastructure like fume hoods and chemistry analyzers are located centrally to maximize efficiency. Views from the adjacent office areas allow lab managers to continuously supervise employees.
Bench layouts and engaging workspaces are designed with future growth in mind. Space is provided for additional chemistry analyzers which were a bottleneck in the existing lab’s workflow. Daylight is brought into the lab space via solatubes, and the glass wall between the office and lab space utilizes a custom wall graphic that connects to the function of the space.
