This Fortune 500 Company sought to increase its competitive advantage, promote cross-divisional efficiencies, and improve its safety and operations. The resulting four-story research building meets these goals, blending organizational divisional research practice with technology-based platform combined research.

Through master planning, concept design, and documentation, BWBR shaped the company’s vision into a forward-looking environment bringing together the various teams that help research, develop, and take to market the life-enhancing products that are a hallmark of the corporation. The open-office programming and division adjacencies create a new hallmark for the corporate campus, breaking down proverbial work silos to encourage interaction and creativity. A new BWBR-developed and implemented workplace strategy drove the change management program utilized to educate staff on the use of their new space.

A research building at its core, strategic location of mechanical systems helped drive many of the lab locations and create workplace efficiencies, integrations, and flexibility. Newly implemented chemical storage and distribution standards for the company’s entire campus and separation of offices from intensive lab areas improve safety and security. A stringent floor system design keeps vibration from negatively impacting sensitive laboratory equipment. Large windows throughout the facility allow access to natural lighting, even from inside most labs, while the whole facility is designed to LEED standards.
