Center for Safe and Healthy Children and Adolescents
Mayo Clinic
The Mayo Clinic Center for Safe and Healthy Children and Adolescents offers a comforting environment for families and children, typically referred to the center by law enforcement or child protective services due to potential child abuse. The facility includes specialized zones for preventative care, chronic condition management, and mental health services, all connected to facilitate coordinated care.
With a goal of making the center warm and welcoming, BWBR selected finishes and furniture upholsteries with themes of nature and soothing colors. These elements are present throughout the facility, including window film designed by the BWBR graphics team, providing privacy in each of the outward-facing spaces while still allowing natural light to enter. The result is a child-centered, safe, and comforting environment designed with the facility’s patient population at the forefront.
