New Ambulatory Surgery Center
Center for Special Surgery
Having outgrown their former space, the Center for Special Surgery (CSS) engaged BWBR to design a new three-story, freestanding facility in West Fargo, North Dakota. The center houses six operating rooms to serve orthopedic, eye, and general surgery patients, along with shell space to accommodate one more in the future. Private pre-surgery and recovery rooms as well as a thoughtfully planned, discreet patient exit create a convenient and comfortable care experience.
A healing environment with an inviting feel, CSS embraces a fresh approach to healthcare in a space that doesn’t feel like a hospital. With lots of natural light, a café with a warm fireplace, access to the outdoors for both patients and staff, and a right-sized facility that is easily navigable, the center facilitates comfort and wellbeing before, during, and after surgery.
