Inpatient Unit Renovation
Antelope Memorial Hospital
Antelope Memorial Hospital is an 18-bed Critical Access Hospital serving rural, northeast Nebraska. BWBR partnered to remodel the hospital’s inpatient unit, bringing the 1960s-era patient rooms up to current best-practice standards with increased size, improved accessibility, and enhanced access to natural daylight.
A fully remodeled support core streamlines operations with more efficient flow for staff and provides valuable square footage for med-surg support, achieved by infilling a convenience stair. HVAC systems were upgraded with the addition of negative pressure capabilities, allowing the unit to operate in “pandemic mode” by reducing airborne transmission. Infusion services were also expanded, with a fit out to a shelled space near the inpatient unit creating a 4-bay infusion center. The renovation positions Antelope Memorial Hospital to serve the community for years to come, with a right-sized and modernized unit that supports staff in providing state-of-the-art, compassionate care.
