Office Renovation
SFM Mutual Insurance Company
BWBR partnered with SFM to create a destination for employees that supports a new hybrid work culture. Most of SFM’s workforce belongs to one of four teams, each with a designated day in the office. With small 12 to 24-person neighborhoods, the design allows these teams to co-locate when they come together, while numerous focus rooms support individual work and one-on-one meetings. Lockers provide staff with space to conveniently store ergonomic tools and belongings in the office.
Conference rooms are designed with hybrid collaboration at the forefront, with optimized seating configurations that create an equitable participant experience regardless of physical location. Standard workstations and offices all feature daylight and views, fostering wellbeing along with a variety of seating options and an abundance of greenery. A centralized work café positioned near the main reception and conference areas brings staff together with a sense of community.
Through a combination of shared and dedicated spaces, square footage was reduced by 40%, creating a right-sized office that meets the needs of SFM’s hybrid workforce by supporting wellness, connection, and flexibility.
