Simulation and Surgical Tech Expansions
Madison Area Technical College
In order to provide students with cutting-edge facilities and training to meet the urgent workforce demands in the healthcare field, Madison College sought to reorganize their Health Education Building (HEB) to maximize existing assets. BWBR successfully integrated our in-house medical and academic planning to meet each program’s needs within the available spaces.
To align with the College’s vision, several programs needed to expand, while others were either moving to different buildings or being phased out. Working from the Health Education Building Master Plan, the first projects identified in were Surgical Tech and Health Simulation, which were initially adjacent and landlocked within the building’s first floor. However, by relocating the Surgical Tech program to the third level, it was able to expand to meet current accreditation requirements while also allowing Health Simulation to expand from its original footprint into the area previously occupied by Surgical Tech.
